Nail art Part 1

I love an occasional pampering. Manicure and pedicure make me go all weak in the knees. So after spending almost RM50 per session, I have decided to do my own.

I love the classic french manicure and I recently discovered the secret which is a small brush for applying. Here is the difference. It is so much thinner and easier to apply.
I was browsing through some websites and stumbled upon this particualr website called www.thestickermonster.blogspot.com .
So this is how it came, through post laju.
I ordered some FIMO nail art canes for my own use and I am so so pleased with my purchase.
I am going to share some of the items I bought.

Birthday babies in June Part 1

I don't really like this as now I am in Malaysia and both my 'besties' are in Kansas and Perth. So anyway this post will be mostly based on pictures that I love a lot a lot. Most of the KA(Kristus Aman) gang all in Malaysia.

Get ready for a post full of pictures that I love.
Do you realise something, Belle is on the left and Shireen is in the middle in all three of these pictures. Haha!

Well the reason why I am posting this up is because Shireen's Birthday is on the 9th of April and Belle's on the 1st of June. So it is a good time to post some pics os them when they were all home.

Some other pictures of the other June Babies.. Laila shares the same birthday with Belle. And Sheyna's is on the 7th June same with Jon B. All these June babies. Will end this post with a picture that was taken at a friend's wedding. Love love.

Blood Donation

I know of many people who clinch at the thought of going for blood donation. I do know that I was never afraid of giving blood to people who need it as I have blood. Did you know it only takes 48 hours for the blood that you donated to be generated back? Haha YES YES only 2 days!

This topic started when I went to NS (National Service). Since we were only 17 years old, we needed our parents' approval. So over the Chinese New Year break, they gave us the forms and of course my mother signed it happily. So we got back and still pretty full of all the CNY's goodies, the staff from the Terrenganu Hospital came to the Camp to start the whole 'exercise'. Not many Chinese girls from my camp took part mainly coz their parents didn't allow for fear of them losing blood and the misconception of 'gaining weight'.

All my mother told me was, drink more water! Haha that's all..

Firstly, they prick your finger and check your 'blood group' and hemoglobin level. When all that is in order, you lie on like a stretcher with 'legs'.

Something similar to the above picture and pillows were provided too. So we are required to lie on the 'bed' and wait. My pressure taken with the blood pressure 'thingy' and then they leave it and the vein in my hand kind of shows up.

So with a small syringe with anesthetic into the vein and it becomes like a little bump.

That is when they poke the bigger neddle into your vein and that is attached to a bag similar to this next image. So after I have shared with you on the whole process and if a person like me can do it, what is stopping you? There is really nothing to be afraid of! I will be hurt by the little prick but after that your blood is going to help someone who really needs it. What is more rewarding than that?My lovely arm with the humungous needle since the silly cotton ball shifted to the side. I was too scared to move the cotton ball so I took this picture instead. I personally like to go to SDMC which was formerly SJMC to get my blood donation done.

Previously I have bruised that part of my hand as I 'overdid'/over-exerted that area.

Something else you didn't know about me.

That's all for now!!

Mother's Day Project @ Kristus Aman

So usually I take part in doing project with belle when she is around of course.
This round I decided to help out with the KAYM Ministry. So since I am in a rosary phase at the moment, why not do rosaries for our lovely mothers of KA. We are talking about 400++ mothers in the church.

So hence this project was planned about 2 weeks from Mothers Day and these are the final outcomes of it. It was very meaningful to me and the people who got involved.Actually it is pretty simple to do. Its stringing 10 beads into one and tie it up and add a cross at the knot and tadahhh. See I just gave out a free lesson to making a simple rosary. I have one in my purse for protection.
PS. I also feel that when I want to buy something I look at it and think do I actually need it or not. My parents will be so proud.

In addition to that we also have 2 bouquet of flowers which is sort of an offering to Mother Mary.Another thing that I got out of this is that I enjoy being in a church. We are all different backgrounds and ages and almost everything else , yet we can get along as we share one thing in common, which is our religion. I need this in my life and I am sure I have grown from this, spiritually and emotionally. So good job KAYM we really made the mothers of KA HAPPY, APPRECIATED, LOVED and proud.

Happy Mother's Day, mummy.

Thats all for now

http://www.mmail.com.my/content/kbu%E2%80%99s-green-prom?quicktabs_2=0
Well actually not many people know this. But I went for my first prom and was nominated for prom Queen with Keith for KBU's Go Green Prom. Had catwalk class and had to do a performance, haha.

Anyway blogs are to write about yourself right so Keith and I won the titles.
hehe.

Thats all for now..

11 March 2010

I like to start stuff and never follow throught it.

In my last post I apologize for some spelling mistake and grammar mistakes that both my parents have commented and corrected me.. hehe.. when I have more time will read it and correct it.

There is a man who use to work for my boss and he keeps on saying life is so difficult as he is trying to sell his land or something la. He has all this big big dreams like building a university first was for car mechanics then medicine and the latest is research to help the durians stay on the tree when it is rainy seasons.

Well He still has a dream right. I dont know if its fair of me to call him a professional dreamer.

So what do I actually want? Study more? Work for another company?

I feel that I want the experience more than anything as I really was so safe and didnt really have the college experience. Well it didnt really help that I was in a relationship . But its not good to blame it on other people but myself as I allowed it..

Now I feel that perhaps if I dream a little perhaps the answer will come and of course praying and listening to God will also help.

To my parents, I am sure they will allow me to do what I want. Time to decide.. I have a deadline. I am not getting younger and I cant depend on my parents forever and ever right.

I remember my dad saying to me last time I need to find a rich husband to continue this kind of lifestyle which I am having now.. haha

Well I wont need that if I start doing what I love and have passion for and be an independant woman before I start dating again.. Hope I can keep to my own word.

PS if love comes knocking you just have to open your heart k..

Thats all

Knowing your roots

Not many people have heard of Taiping. It is actually a small town in Perak where my parents are from actually. So Chinese New Year has always been a time where the whole family meets in Taiping where my grandfather is now.

It is a tradition that the first few days meaning reunion and first day of New Year should be spent with the Father's side.

As I could recall we usually have 2 dinners every night.. Meaning we will eat with mummy's side and then with daddy's side.

I enjoy being at mummy's side because there are children our age and we get along pretty well. The restuarant that we eat there is a shop that sells almost everything but most of all we remember the toys and sweets. We always give them bussiness during time.

Daddy's side is mostly the grandaunties, yes you heard me right. My Ah Mah and Ah Kong pass away a while back already and yet there is all that love in that house for us. At that time was me and Dennis only so we actually got a lot of angpow as we were the only children and then came Marcus long after that. The food in that house was never shot of delicious. Seriously. All home-cooked and always had our favourite food. Soup, fish, vegetable, chicken and the list can go on and on.

This is my daddy's side house.

It is on the main street.
Marcus popping his head out.

This is a picture of my ancesstors. There is a priest amongs them too. Father James Saw, who will be missed.
Mother of pearl furniture. The pieces in the living room.
You must be wondering why I even place this picture up. This house experience the war times too. Hence a small dent to the grill.
Look at this amazing piece of food carving. I remember shouting into it calling "Ee Poh Ee Poh". They are of a certain age so have to call them really loud. Now there is only one Ee Poh left.
Happy Chinese New Year. Hope you have safe trips back to your home town and spend time with the people you love the most. They are your true friends..

Love
Kristie

Intersting Things that I plan to try soon.. hehe

I was at MPH Midvalley when I came upon this book where you can do all this stuff out of a pair of jeans.. Yes I did say jeans. hehe,,

I was telling belle and she said are you sure you want to cut up a pair of your own pair of jeans. which is pretty true, it not cheap you know. So she came out with this idea that we can actually buy a pair of jeans for about RM 10 at this Malay Market which could either be stolen or something. hehe.. but will just wash them before trying that.

This first one is called laundry bag and I know it will be a really big project but I mean I am up for a challenge .

so cute right. It would be so cool when you check that in. and the instructions are pretty straight forward. No measurements thought.

Next a simple hairband. I love it.
Cut cut and stick thats all.. really simple. and little ribbons..

Recently I bought a bikini top at DFO for RM 3. I didnt realise that there were sizes but I just bought it. Its a little big but at least it covers all . Know what I mean.
I think I will blog again on how my small projects turn out. But first I need to get a pair of jeans.
Thats all for now. hehe

Flower's '1'

I love love flowers... So me and Christobel ( A really good friend of mine) actually realised that it was just crazy how expensive a rose is during February 14. The rate is about RM 10 per rose and a simple bouquet is about RM 100 with about 12 roses and gila a lot of fillers such as baby breaths and little daisies.

So we manage to find a wholesaler who sells then at the most approprite price that it was just crazy and we decided to make and sale at a cheaper rate to make some extra income. As usual we just thought about it a long time and we said haih ya too much work, so we just did for our girlfriends.

We did manage to make 2 bouquets for my bro and his good friend for Valentine's day 200* .
in the bicycle basket. they are both pink actually.

We only charged them cost price. I sure hope their girlfriends enjoyed them as much as we enjoyed arranging it.

Here are 2 more bouquets that we tried to design for our selling plan.

As seen in all the pics above, we dont use a lot of paper. We like it minimal and the focus is more on the flowers.

My Welcome post..

I have been meaning to start a blog for the longest time. So I was thinking what can I write on this blog that is appropriate for children or teens to read that their parents will approve. And being a child myself, and reading all the blogs out there makes me think about life and how I can do it.

So let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a girl first of all and I have a degree in Interior Architecture and Design.. I know it sounds pretty big and all .. hehe.. But now I am working in a Landscape company.. so not relavent but I am learning.

So back to the story of why I am starting this blog. I needed a place where I can help people without actually using my time or energy. Not in a bad way.

I am not sure if this is appropriate but I am actually a Catholic and when was younger I always wondered what my seniors did for fun. since its like a 'sin' to go clubbing and so on. So now I am giving an inside to a bit about my life and what I enjoy doing. So don't get me wrong, I do like the occasional drink with my friends and music and dancing but we know our limits.

Well I hope you enjoy this maiden insight and preview...

Love
Kristie
